Freelance curator, author, editor, teacher, lecturer, and moderator since 1995. Thematic focus on Israeli cultural identity, Israel’s literary and art scene, particularly photography.

Professional experience, positions and projects (partial list):

Idea, concept and realization of a traveling exhibition in Germany and Israel, publication and accompanying cultural program for the year 2015/ 2016 on the subject: "50 years Germany-Israel: Human encounters" (working title), project executing organization: German-Israeli Association (Deutsch-Israelische Gesellschaft e.V., DIG), funded by the German Foreign Office, opening in October 2015, Federal Parliament Paul-Löbe-Haus, Berlin, information here;

Invitation of the University of Calgary to give a workshop on Israel's Mediterranean Identity.

Curational supervision of the traveling exhibition Insight - Micha Bar-Am's Israel while it is touring Germany. 

2010 - 2011
Curator and project manager, Micha Bar-Am photography retrospective, in cooperation with the Open Museum for Photography, Tel Hai, the Willy-Brandt Haus, Berlin, and Magnum Photos, Paris; editor of monograph on the work of Magnum photographer Micha Bar-Am (Insight - Micha Bar-Am's Israel).

2008 - 2010
Curatorial supervision in Germany of exhibition 60 Jahre Pressefotografie aus Israel: Paul Goldman und David Rubinger (60 Years of Press Photography from Israel: Paul Goldman and David Rubinger); organization of program that accompanied the exhibition in Berlin, Munich, Magdeburg, Bremen, and Celle.

Conceptualized and organized lecture and panel discussion on “Berlin – Tel Aviv – Beirut” (in cooperation with Yael Katz Ben Shalom, Galerie Artneuland).

On behalf of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Berlin), adapted the Eretz Israel Museum of Tel Aviv’s exhibition of the work of photographers Paul Goldman and David Rubinger for presentation in Germany.

2004 2005

Curator and project manager, Boris Carmi: Fotografien aus Israel (Boris Carmi: Photographs from Israel), Akademie der Künste, Berlin, and Jewish Museum, Frankfurt/M.; 

Conceptualized and organized one-day conference on “The Stories Behind the Images of Boris Carmi,” held at the Diaspora Museum, Tel Aviv, in cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and eyewitnesses.

1998 - 2000
Gave guided tours through the permanent exhibitions of the New Synagogue/Centrum Judaicum (Berlin).

1998 - 1999
Academic assistant, Berlin Metropolis: Jews and the New Culture, 1890-1918 exhibition, Jewish Museum, New York; author and editor of texts for the exhibition catalogue.

Academic assistant, Die Reise nach Jerusalem - Eine kulturhistorische Exkursion in die Stadt der Städte (Journey to Jerusalem: A Cultural and Historical Excursion to the Holy City), an exhibition, organized by the Berliner Festspiele GmbH at the Orangerie Schloss Charlottenburg); conceptualized and realized the exhibition sections on nineteenth- and twentieth-century Jerusalem; worked in administrative office; handled lending logistics; responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the mounting of the exhibition; provided editorial assistance in the production of exhibition catalogue.
